Just A Buzzin' How About You?

Had to give Christmas cards a rest, so today's card is made with Stampin' Up!'s "Just Buzzin' By" stamp set. These little bees are so adorable. Notice the layer that looks like honeycomb? You say, "How did you do that"? Come find out how at my Technique class. It's easy peasy to do! You will make a card and then receive a technique book ring so you can add each technique page with a sample of the technique. I added Dazzling Diamonds to the bees wings after I scanned the card to make them sparkle.  I will be posting another card I made using this same technique in a month or so! Dasher

 

I received a similar swap card from the 2009 Stampin' Up! convention, but the creator did not have any information on the back. I used her card as inspiration for this card. If you were the original creator please let me know so I can give you credit. I changed up the sizes of the cardstock and used a different greeting. This is one of the cards we did at my November 6th Christmas Stamp-a-Stack class. Dasher is stamped with Versamark and then embossed with Silver embossing powder. Don't forget to use your embossing buddies, especially with dark cardstock! Dasher is a very, very popular stamp and it is only $8.95 and can be found on page 208 of the 2009-2010 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.

Loads of Loves and the Christmas Tree

Today's card is another card we will be creating at my November 6th Stamp-a-Stack class. This little truck is so adorable. I couldn't resist using the new set Loads of Fun along with Loads of Love for this card. I've had this card in my head for some time and couldn't wait to create it. Of course I had to use the Punch Pals presents stamp because I like big presents. (smile) What do they say? Great things come in small packages!

Winter Post Christmas Card

This is one of the cards we will be creating at my November 6th Stamp-a-Stack class. I love the look of this card. It has a vintage look and feel. I used the Winter Post stamp set combined with the tree from the Lovely as a Tree set by Stampin' Up! Sometimes it is nice to mix stamp sets to see what design you can create! Tree Trimmings Make & Take from Stampin' Up! 2009 Convention

This is one of the Make-n-Takes we made at the Stampin' Up! 2009 Convention in Salt Lake City, UT. I just love the red polka dot ribbon, how about you? This is a great card for a workshop or a Stamp-a-Stack. Speaking of Stamp-a-Stacks, wait until you see the Christmas card we will be making at our December 4th Stamp-a-Stack class using the Tree Trimmings set. It is absolutely gorgeous! I will post that card later this month, so keep a close watch for it. Batty for You with Crossbones

Help! Someone stop me with this "Ghosting Technique." Just loving it! The Ghosting technique is the first technique we will be learning at my new Technique's Class. We will be creating this card using the Batty for You stamp set by Stampin' Up!. I made a similar card for a special little someone for his birthday Wednesday! His card had the Happy Birthday stamped in the middle with the skull and crossbones at the bottom right hand corner of the focal point. You could even change it up and make a Halloween card, see my earlier post. How do you like the crossbones? To make these, I came up with the idea to use the small heart from the Heart to Heart punch, and then cut a small strip of Basic Black cardstock and attached the pieces! Kinda cool huh?  Hope you like....stop in again real soon. Trick or Treat

Did you like yesterday's version of the Ghosting Technique? Here's another version! How cool is this color? I used the Stampin' Up! Old Olive stamp pad and a sponge! Why don't you give it a try using different colors to see which color you like best. I made someone special a birthday card using this technique and the same colors. Happy Halloween "Ghosting"

This card was my August swap card for the swap group I host. I received lots of questions about this card. Everyone wanted to know how I got the Batty for You image so light. This technique is called "Ghosting." How appropriate huh? Here's the scoop: I inked up my Stampin' Up! Sanded Background stamp and stamped it on Glossy cardstock also from Stampin' Up!. I waited for it to dry, then stamped my Batty for You image in VersaMark and stamped it. I sponged Pumpkin Pie ink over the whole piece of glossy cardstock. Then I took a tissue and rubbed off the ink. The "Trick or Treat" is embossed in black. This stamp comes from the Holiday Best exclusive Level 1 hostess set. All you have to do is host a workshop totaling $150 and it is yours for FREE. Call me today to get your workshop on my calendar.

I needed a white brad so I changed the silver hodgepodge hardware brad to white. I changed the color of my brad by inking the brad in VersaMark (cover well) and dipped it into white embossing powder and heated it with my heat tool. Please use tweezers or something to hold your brad or you will burn yourself. The brads get VERY hot. Once you have finished heating your brad, you may want to hold it in the tweezers until it cools. If you lay it down right away you can smear or mess it up.
