Holiday Best with Petals a Plenty

Today's card I scanned a little different. Try to ignore the green background the card is laying on. I wanted to get the full effect of the ribbon without the ribbon being on a white background. The red Petals a Plenty embossed cardstock with a hole punched in it was left over from another card I tried to design, but the design just wasn't working out. You know how that goes sometimes! You have envisioned this design, but then you just don't like it, or it's not working for you. I didn't want to waste the embossed cardstock so I thought, humm...What can I do? I thought the embossing was pretty, so I added some Platinum Shimmer Paint to the center of the flowers with a paint brush. I like layers and thought the hole needed a layer, so I found some Brushed Silver Cardstock and used the Circles #2 Die to cut a circle. I then punched out the center of the circle and placed it around the hole. I needed a stamp and believe me, I went through hundreds of stamps before I could decide on one I thought would look good with the embossing and shimmer paint. I decided to keep it simple and used the Merry Christmas stamp from Holiday Best. I can't believe how many times I have used this stamp set. I think it is one of the best Level 1 Hostess Sets Stampin' Up! has ever made! Right now, I plan on this being one of the projects we will be doing at our December Club Party Night. But you know how that goes too, don't you. You change your mind, then change it again! Thanks for looking!

Razzlebery Tree Trimmings

Christmas with Autumn Days

This is another Christmas Card we will be doing at my December 4th Christmas Stamp-a-Stack class. We make 4 different designs with 5 of each card for a total of 20 cards. I love the look of Kraft Cardstock with this design. The snowflakes are from the Christmas Punch stamp set and are stamped in Versamark. Using markers, I inked up the pine cone stamp from Autumn Days and then sponged the edges of that layer with Craft Whisper White. Craft Whisper White is a pigment ink so be careful and give it time to dry. I also sponged the edges of the Handsome Hunter cardstock. The pine cones have Dazzling Diamond glitter on them, but it is hard to see. Enjoy your day. Thank you for visiting today and please come back!

Cardinal Rubber Banding

 

 

This is one of my swap cards I swapped at the 2009 Stampin' Up! convention in Salt Lake City, UT. I have been waiting to do this card with my customers for some time now. This card is one we have been doing at a couple of my November workshops. Look at the Old Olive and White piece of cardstock. Nope, it's not Designer Series Paper. This is a technique that is done with a Brayer and rubber bands. Very cool and a WOW technique. Each piece has a different look. Everyone enjoyed doing this technique because it is very simple and easy to do! Thanks for stopping by!

Penguin Sweet Treat Snowglobe Ornament

This is one of the cards we are doing at my November workshops. It uses the Sweet Treat Cups, Shimmer Paint and the Top Note Die all from Stampin' Up! If you are interested in having an in-home workshop please contact me to book a date. I used the Top Note Die and punched a hole in it. I then stamped the penguin image in Basic Black on another piece of white cardstock and colored him in. I placed the Sweet Treat Cup in the punched out hole of the Top Note to make a snowglobe ornament. I then needed something for snow so thought of the idea to use Glassy Glaze, pretty neat huh? Every once in a while I'll come up with something cool..... I then sponged the edges of the Top Note die with Platinum Shimmer Paint. The ornament stamp was stamped using the Platinum Shimmer Paint. I applied a very light layer of Shimmer paint directly to my stamp and stamped the image. Tied a bow and stamped my greeting. The snowflakes were stamped using the Metallic Silver Stamp Pad. Give Shimmery Thanks!

Today's card is made using the Movers and Shapers Die with the Holiday Windows Die and the Big Shot. The Movers and Shapers Die actually cuts and scores your card. I used 12 x 12 cardstock, cut in half. I am loving Shimmer Paint! I sponged Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint around the edges of the cut out circle and on the acorn itself. It really makes the image pop! The acorn image is from The More the Merrier Exclusive Hostess Set by Stampin' Up!

This tiny little bottle of Shimmer Paint goes a very long way! You can do various things with Shimmer Paint. You can ink up your stamp using Shimmer Paint, or you can use a sponge dauber to place Shimmer Paint on certain spots of your stamped image, or you can sponge your card for a different effect. There are many ways to use Shimmer Paint and I will try to post some different techniques soon. Thanks for dropping in today, please stop in again.
